american idol announces a surprising fourth judge
American Idol producers have finally settled on a replacement for Paula Abdul, and the result is surprising!Ellen DeGeneres revealed to studio audiences members at her talk show yesterday that she would be replacing Paula Abdul as the fourth judge. She also assured them that she would still be keeping her day job. Ellen will be joining fellow judges Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, and Kara DioGuardi. She will not be joining the show until the final rounds, after the audition and Hollywood rounds have been completed.
“American Idol†will be debuting in January on Fox on Dish Network, though a specific date has yet to be announced. Guest judges for the audition phase of the competition include Victoria Beckham, Mary J. Blige, Shania Twain, Avril Lavigne, Neil Patrick Harris, Katy Perry, and Joe Jonas.Thought this is a surprising choice (most assumed it would be someone from the music industry), I think Ellen is a great choice. The reason is because even though she is not a singer, she loves and appreciates music, and she will represent the “everyday viewer,†not to mention she's hilarious and I can only imagine her sparring with Simon or throwing some funny comments at the contestants.

Everybody runs around talking continuously about each season of American Idol as if it is the greatest experience ever in the world. But if you have been watching the show for a while, you are very much aware that there was 6 seasons even before the most recent. This leaves 7 seasons worth of rejected potential Idols wondering around the world trying to make a life for themselves. While some of the previous contestants have gone on to do amazing things with their careers, even more have slipped into the cracks again.
Season one was the start of something huge. Not only was there two hosts, remember Brian Dunkleman? Do not feel bad, most people have no clue who he is or that he was involved. But there was also contestants such as Justin Guarini, Kelly Clarkson, and even Tamyra Gray to mention a few it was an incredible season. The overall excitement was mounting heavily but where have these contestants actually gone? Kelly Clarkson of course emerged as the winner and is still active in the music industry. Justin Guarini has made a few television appearances, and even released a few albums but his commercial success has been significantly limited. Tamyra Gray has found to date the greatest success on television appearing in several different shows. She has also recently found success in the Broadway showing of "Rent."
Season two started with a bang, and brought with it the former marine Josh Gracin who has gone onto win the hearts of country music lovers, Carmen Rasmusen who also released a country music album and even brought with it Kimberly Locke, Clay Aiken, and the amazing Ruben Studdard. Ruben went on to record several albums, while Clay Aiken has found great deals of success with both albums and even on Broadway. Others like Carmen, Josh and Kimberly are not as followed, but have still received attention following their time on the show.
Season three found contestants like Jennifer Hudson, Fantasia Barrino and the notorious William Hung who while not an actual finalist still lives on in the hearts of all true fans for what not to do at an audition. Additional treasures were found in Diana DeGarmo as well. From season three, it was rather obvious that it was a bit harder to find lasting talent. Jennifer Hudson has so far emerged as the most successful contestant of the season, and after being booted in a 7th place finish she has gone onto star in Dreamgirls with Jamie Foxx and Beyonce Knowles and even win an Academy Award for her performance. Fantasia meanwhile has grabbed headlines for her strange antics, failure to appear for performances on Broadway and less than stellar commercial success.
Season four brought out all of the bad boys of rock, with Constantine Maroulis and even Bo Bice. By bringing the two rockers to the stage, it was a shift to a different style of music, and it has been these two contestants credited with inspiring season five contestant Chris Daughtry to try out. Winning the season was Carrie Underwood, who has been an enormous success and to date the most successful American Idol winner yet. The remaining contestants from the year have managed to slip back into the background with only occasional news stories, such as Vonzell Solomon the third place contestant arrested for a handgun at an airport.

The premise of a show like American Idol is to find the best singers in the country and let them go toe to toe in a karaoke style contest in which viewers of the show vote and have a say in the outcome every week. The show has been popular since the first season, and former idols winners and losers for that matter have gone on to achieve great success. Former loser Jennifer Hudson recently won an Academy Award, and season one winner Kelly Clarkson is a best selling artist and Grammy Award winner.
Recently their has been a call to arms to vote for the worst, which at this point happens to be Sanjaya Malakar, a moppet haired guy with no discernable singing talent. This is of course a fine mess and there are a few problems with voting for the worst:
Motivation
The self proclaimed king of all media, Howard Stern, is requesting that his listeners vote for the worst contestant, the aforementioned Malakar. There should be someone questioning the motivation of Stern. Is her completely bored, after earning a truck load of money after switching to satellite radio? Rumor has it that that the company may be going out of business and perhaps Stern wanted some listeners to trickle over after the controversy.
Another company, website Vote for the Worst is trying to make a name by piggybacking on the success of American Idol. There is of course tons of information on what they perceive to be the problem of American Idol, the unfair practices of the judging process on how contestants are picked and moved on throughout the contest.
The fact that there are t shirts with the logo of the company being sold begs the question of whether or not their reasons are altruistic. They make the argument that they care about the great contestants being passed over for a myriad of reasons. I wonder if they are donating their profits to this undiscovered talent.

However, we all know that we could not look at a series of terrible singers all season long. Viewers will begin to tune out in droves if the only option is to tune in week after week to see only the most mediocre of contestants. Not to mention the unfairness of booting legitimate singers such as Stephanie Edwards. They deserve their time to shine as well and are being robbed of the chance by a cruel grassroots campaign.
Singers like Sanjaya Malakar and Antonella Barber belong between the pages of Star Magazine and the National Enquirer in their Where are They Now section. In the meantime, tune out Stern and the opportunists from the website Vote for the Worst. Let them hawk their merchandise elsewhere or by piggybacking on hard work of someone else.

Seven seasons of American Idol has passed and so far, we have a bunch of people to report about. Whether they've disappeared from everyone's memory or have permanently placed themselves in everyone's consciousness, we have a lot to talk about when it comes to American Idol. Right now, there's a crowd of AI alums who are struggling to keep their careers afloat, with a few successfully keeping the spotlight on themselves. As for David Cook, the future is surely bright. Others like Sanjaya will have to keep trying. Project Runway, probably? Still, others like Katherine McPhee has fought to keep her career as glamorous as she is. Now that the summer tour is nearing, let's check back on some of our favorite American Idols.
David Cook. Is there anything else to say? He's on fire! Less than two weeks after he was crowned American Idol of 2008, he landed a recording deal and was able to land 3rd place in the Hot 100 charts, following Leona Lewis and the first single from Lil' Wayne's “The Carter 3.†The studio songs of the songs he sang in the competition have been selling like peanuts, with 11 songs currently on the Hot 100 charts and 17 total on the Top 200 charts.
Clay Aiken. So far, he's released another album and artificially inseminated his 50-year-old friend and record producer named Jaymes Foster. Nothing much going on. Fans should be happy for him as TMZ reports that they are having a baby boy. So soon?
Sanjaya Malakar. He could seriously be mistaken for a valet parking person. Anyway, it seems that Sanjaya has still been keeping himself busy. With what, you ask? He recently shot a Nationwide Insurance commercial for their “Life Comes at You Fast†campaign, which he flew to India for. The commercial sees Sanjaya going to an Indian monastery seeking advice. The spiritual advisor then tells him to come up with a retirement plan and change his hairstyle. The question now liesâ€"will he follow this piece of advice?

are singaporean guys romantic?
It is a very controversial topic and many people, especially after their weddings, have different opinions on this.
Are Singaporean guy romantic?
In fact, there are some male friends of mine who are.
I remembered a male friend of mine deployed 10 of his friends to make a heart using fire sprinklers at a beach. The size was about half of a basketball court. It was their second year into their relationship.
Another male friend of mine sprinkled rose petals in a hotel room during Valentine's Day and lined the petals from the middle of the bed to the door.
The third male friend of mine inflated tens of heart-shaped balloons using helium gas and filled his car's boot with them. He blindfolded his girlfriend and led her to open the boot by herself and the amzing sight was when all the balloons flew up.
Of course again, these special acts are done during special days such as wedding anniversaries, birthdays, Valentine's Days and even wedding proposals.
What about normal days, especially after their wedding?
Many of my female friends complained that reality set in once after their weddings ended and their husbands cut down the surprises and gifts for them.
For a moment, they realised they were getting more before their weddings.
I heard that from a lady that her husband was absolutely not a romantic man who doesn't even cooked instant noodle for her. Thus, she could only wish her husband do romantic things only when she sleeps.
Others grumbled that they never receive a paper aeroplane from their husbands and getting paper cranes from them can only be a dream.
I feel whether romantic or not, it is really up to the couples themselves to judge. Some can shout “I love you†for tens of times in public and it may be seen as not really romantic by others. Some find it embarrasing in fact.
Some guys can do a million loving things to please their wives but their wives may find their high expectations unmet.
Others easily get delighted over simple acts of care and concern.
Some easily satisfied couples find eating muffins together at their balcony romantic though it is just a plain muffin. To them, it is the quality time that is spent together.
For me, I made a point to sprinkle our daily routine life with little romance now and then.
These are 5 things I made it a point to do:
First, I buy her flowers once a month to reward her hard work in her career.
Second, I buy her little gifts which I know will amuse her.
Third, I get her fruits and food that she loves to eat.
Fourth, a short massage done a day definitely can chase the stress away.
Fifth, hand-make her gifts rather than buy.
You can see that these are some simple ways to inject more romance into your relationship.
What you can do right now is ask yourself what your spouse like which does not require money? Maybe just singing a song for her even though you may not be the best singer. But I'm sure you are much better than William Hung of past season of American Idol.
Or get a piece of A4 paper and write “I love you, dear and thanks so much for being my husband!†You see, this only takes a few minutes to do it.
Go do it right now and you are a step closer making your marriage a more romantic one.

At the end of 2008, Cisco Systems revealed their unique approach to ethics training for their workforce. Many companies look for ways to make training enjoyable for employees. Cisco Systems has been able to prove that a company can effectively incorporate humor into an ethics training program and still get the message across. In the article "Cisco Transmits Ethics To A 'Wired' Workforce," by Andrew Singer, Ethics Program Manager Jeremy Wilson stated "all too often training officers are inhibited by the thought that “legal would not like that.†Compliance-related topics are inherently dry, and companies shouldn't shy away from seeking new ways to connect with your code and your employees.â€

In a competition you always strive to be number one, the best, the winner. However, there can only be one winner and this is true in music competitions as well. The winner from a music competition gets a lot of attention that likely result in fame and fortune. Sometimes though the runner up becomes more successful than or just as successful as the winner. We've seen this happen over time in music competitions such as Star Search and American Idol. Pop sensations Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears were runners- up on Star Search. Here are the runners-up from a more modern music competition, American Idol.
Starting in order of seasons, the runner up of season one was Justin Guarini. He lost to Kelly Clarkson, who is now one of the world's recognized recording artists. Police are investigating whether road rage was responsible for the tragic death of a Kentucky girl who was following her dream to become the next American Idol, according to Kentucky.com and WTVQ TV.
MaRhonda Collins and three members of her family, all from Midway, had planned their Florida vacation around American Idol auditions in Orlando. They were only about 16 miles north of the Florida border when their car struck another vehicle and burst into flames, killing all four passengers on July 2, 2009, Kentucky.com reported. The passengers in the other vehicles involved were not injured.
Collins, was described as an "always happy" girl who was "smart as a whip" and loved to sing. "She had such hopes and dreams," explained relative Polly Collins who added that said that the family had pooled their money to pay for the trip.
She graduated from Scott County High School in Kentucky and had just been awarded a scholarship from the University of Kentucky where she intended major in biology as preparation for medical school.
Lowndes County Coroner Bill Watson confirmed that police are investigating whether road rage contributed to the accident, according to reports. However, family members want a thorough investigation completed before any blame is assessed.

At the beginning of the fourth season of The Bachelorette, it seemed that Richard Mathy had captured the heart of DeAnna Pappas. The high school teacher from New York received a first impression rose on the first night, and was able to make himself stand out from the rest. However, through the course of the competition, DeAnna turned her attention to other men such as Jeremy, Jason and Graham. Richard was then placed in the sidelines, but was soon able to get a chance to make a connection with DeAnna Pappas again at the one on one date. However, DeAnna revealed that she wasn't feeling any connection with him anymore, and thus had to send him home.
Recently, Richard Mathy talked about his experiences on the show, and how it felt to see it all over again on national television.
"Monday was kind of like watching a really bad horror flick," he said in the conference call. "You knew that the guy should not go in the basement and he just goes in the basement anyway and he still acts surprised when he gets killed."
Mathy also revealed that he was hesitant going into the show because his job as a teacher required him to follow the school's morality clause. However, he says that
"The more I got going with the show, the less I thought about it."
He kept mum on the issue until the show aired, and his students fortunately supported him all throughout, much to his surprise.
"The kids were actually really great... They all supported me," he admitted. "Even the day after I was dismissed, they were really great about it. I did let them know that hanging out in the house is very similar to teaching 25 freshmen."
Despite getting the boot a little too early, Mathy says that he wishes the best for DeAnna Pappas. He supported her in making the decision for him to leave, as he believes that their chemistry can never be forced.
"You pretty much go out there, you show her who you are, she shows you who she is, and if it clicks it clicks. If it doesn't it doesn't. That's the idea of the show," he explained.

"If anybody knows her number and wants to send it my way, that's cool," he laughed.

You could have a picture of banknotes, but few of us get excited by pictures of money. It's what money can do for you that excites you.
If your picture is a car then either in a scrapbook or on a computer drawing program, paste a small picture of your present car. Then paste a much larger picture of your dream car. Make a gold coloured line that stretches from your present car to the dream car with an arrow head at the end touching the dream car.
Look at this picture everyday, visualising yourself sat in the driving seat of the dream car.
This process re-enforces our Golden path in your subconscious mind. It will make the achievement of your goal more real.
Feel
You get motivated and excited by feelings. When you imagine achieving your goal, see how you will feel. Actually have that feeling. Observe how people feel when they achieve something great. Watch marathon runners faces as they cross the finishing line. Observe the body language of the X Factor, or American Idol contestants as they get voted through to the next round. Feel their excitement as they jump in and down with joy! That is how you want to feel when your goal is achieved.
Important goals usually take hard work to achieve. Losing weight takes will power when you stand in front of a chocolate cake. Creating a new business can take long hours of hard work to set up. By focussing on how you will feel when you are leaner and fitter or more wealthy will give you the strength to carry on.

When you reach a purple step, reward yourself. Go for a celebration meal at your favourite restaurant, buy some music by your favourite artist, go away for the weekend with a loved one. Rewarding yourself will motivate you and give you the strength to head for the next purple step.
